As babies we want to get attention, so we smile or laugh and make others laugh back at us. When they don?t give us attention we cry and then for sure we get it.

As we grow older we get a bit more sophisticated?? if we don?t get love, attention, approval or acknowledgement, we break things in the house, or we "accidently" spill milk on the floor, or we forget to take the dog for a walk and voila ? the stink and the mess on the carpet gets us a LOT of attention.

Then we do things and we want people to agree with us??to tell us it was accepted, beautiful, that it was OK, and that we are wonderful. There?s nothing wrong with liking to hear compliments or a good word of support. These are all wonderful. But NEEDING praises is a different matter. Looking for approval; needing it to move on? Where does it get us? Whose life are we eventually living? Ours or those whose approval we need?

Therefore to live your life, to be who you are and who you want to be??the only approval you need is from yourself.

Be true to yourself. Don?t wait for others to give you the OK to live or how to live.
You are here! You have already gotten a driver?s license. Don?t wait for others to drive you around; you don?t know where they?ll take you and where you?ll end up.

You be the driver of your own car. Set goals, set targets, get in your car and drive on.
Go to places you want to see, drive fast or slow; don?t stop to ask people whether your driving is acceptable or if your choices are approved. Follow your own heart, follow your passion and those who don?t approve will be just another traffic light on your way to your destination.

I've never been one to hide my true feelings. I've always worn them on my sleeve and known exactly how I felt at any given time. But I haven't always dealt with my feelings and understood why I was having them. That's something I learned to do once I start to understand that my true feelings were an indication of how my life was going.

How you really feel right now is an indication of how happy you are, where you are in life, and where you are going in life. If you feel miserable and down then there is something wrong or something missing in your life. When you address that feeling of being miserable, and really dig to understand why you feel that way, then you can begin to take action to change what's making you feel miserable and allow yourself to be happy in life again.

So let your feelings flourish! Embrace them as they come in, good or bad, and let them tell you what step you need to take next in order to really be happy in life.

How to Deal With Your True Feelings

1. Admit Your True Feelings

Look past the disguise that you have built for yourself and the world and find your true feelings. Are you mad, sad, anxious, or puzzled? What are you really feeling at this moment?

Don't try to feel something you are not feeling. If you want to feel happy but you actually feel sad then you have to admit that you feel sad. If you don't admit the truth then you are not being honest with yourself and you will not be able to work on the underlying cause that is making you sad.

2. Figure Out Why You Feel That Way

Once you understand what you are feeling find the root cause of that feeling. For example, if you feel sad try and pinpoint exactly what caused you to feel sad. Was there a moment when the sadness started? Did someone do something or say something that made you feel bad? Were you focused on a particular event at that time? Try and pinpoint the exact moment your mood started to turn bad.

3. Be True To Yourself

If you find out that the root cause of your sadness is something that you don't want to admit then try to remember that you can't run and hide from the reason or brush it off just because you don't want to deal with it. If you do that then you are not solving anything and your feelings are not going to change because the root problem is still there.

For example, if someone you love hurt your feelings and caused you to become sad then the only way to deal with that is to communicate with the person about how you feel or find another way to move past the hurt, anger, or sadness without looking back. You can't however just brush it aside because it will be there waiting for you to find again someday.

Whether you are hurt, embarrassed, nervous or happy, accept it and let it be a part of who you are. We are all human and we all have feelings like this, nobody is immune, so don't pretend like you are a superhero who doesn't feel certain things because that's not fair to yourself and your ability to be happy.

4. Don't Try To Force Your Feelings to Go Away

It may take some time to get over your hurt, anger, or any other negative emotion that you are having. It may take some time to figure out exactly how to deal with it. Don't try to rush it or talk yourself into thinking everything is okay now. If it's not okay yet then that's okay! You may not deal with the feeling within a day, and that's alright.

Your feelings are not going to go away until you deal with the root issue that you have discovered caused them, and you may not know how to deal with them right away so they may hang around for a while.

Scour the internet, talk to people, read up on how to fix whatever issue you are having. Once you find a way to fix the root cause of your feelings you will be able to move past the feelings and they will go away very quickly. So take the time to really find a way to overcome your issue.

If you find yourself without the ability to be happy right now then go through these 4 steps and find out what's really going on inside of you. Be honest with yourself and your feelings and allow yourself to figure out a plan to heal that negative mood and continue on towards being happy.

Video game addiction is a growing problem for so many people today.

It's only logical to say that the person is addicted to gaming when the imaginary world of video games takes over from reality and negatively impacts other aspects of the person's life. But this addiction has little to do with logic. The reason for this is simple.

Logic is the language of the conscious mind and in gaming this is not the part of the mind that is in charge, so logic can easily get relegated to the wings. When we are deeply involved in gaming, it's as if reality flies out of the window.

When we play we become emotionally identified with the character that we are playing. And to do this we use our imagination.

Imagination is the subconscious mind's language, and it is the language we use when we engage in video gaming. The mind that feels is the subconscious - elation and despair, ecstasy and anger, triumph and defeat - all those feelings that are elicited when we are deeply involved in the imaginary world of video gaming.

You see, the subconscious mind really cannot tell the difference between a real and an imaginary thing. If you imagine yourself cutting into and then sucking on a sour lemon, its juice spurting into your mouth and trickling down your chin, then you'll probably salivate. For the subconscious part of the mind, it feels as if that lemon were real.

When a video game takes over, for the subconscious part of the mind it is as real as real can be.

Games such as World of Warcraft, Grand Theft Auto, etc demand that we use the subconscious mind to enter a world of virtual reality. To do this it is necessary to suspend our critical judgment, to forget that this is simply a make-believe game, and when we do this we enter into a trance state, where time becomes distorted and life itself seems to operate under different rules. It is in our subconscious that our emotions are triggered, and it is through our subconscious that we feel. In other words, when we enter the world of fantasy video games then we enter a state of hypnosis where reality becomes distorted and feelings rule. Fantasy has intertwined with reality - in a way very similar to that imaginary lemon.

For the majority of us, these games are harmless, an enjoyable distraction affording a good deal of fun. They may even provide some degree of useful social interaction, enabling the person to further develop interpersonal skills and explore their personality.

But this ostensible harmlessness is true of most addictive substances or behaviors: For most people alcohol is something that can be enjoyed now and then, it does not automatically become an addiction, just as buying lottery tickets does not necessarily lead on to compulsive gambling.

But for some, things snowball and escalate into addiction.

Though for the majority of people these games may well be safe, indeed, even therapeutic, for others video gaming will become a progressive activity that will eventually lead on to dependence and addiction.

And this is where the right form of hypnotherapy can really assist.

Because the addict has spent so much time in the trance state, he or she needs to be 'DE-hypnotized', as it were, and taught new ways to trigger positive feelings and cope with all kind of emotions.

The individual needs to learn new strategies for dealing with life on life's terms, without the emotional 'fix' that addiction may once have provided. A variety of different forms of therapy such as hypnotic regression, ego state, and cognitive behavioral therapy, might be involved in order to learn how to correct unhelpful though processing patterns. Mindful meditation is all about being mindful and being present. In our life, we frequently function on autopilot, which means that we are hiding inside our own thoughts and then not aware of what is going on in our surrounding. You have most definitely tried walking or taking the bus to work, school or someplace else, and couldn?t really remember the details of the way. You did not pay attention to your surroundings. This can be a nice experience of taking a short retreat from your daily worries and just focus on your thoughts, though it also means that you may not be able to notice different opportunities there may come your way, and you may therefore miss out of something important.

In mindfulness meditation you will learn to be mindful and focus only on your inhalations and exhalations and the different feelings connected to it. You will also have to keep in mind to only focus on NOW and not on the past or the future. You will be present in this very second. So work with this easy meditation technique to help you become mindful.

Mindfulness Meditation Technique

Step 1
Find a suiting spot where you can practice your meditation and a time where you are certain that no one will interrupt you when you are mediating. Practice this mindfulness technique for 10 to 20 minutes. Pick a meditation posture that you are comfortable with and take a minute to calm your mind and body before starting the exercise.

Step 2
Close your eyes and notice your inhalations and exhalations. Unlike the majority of other types of meditations, you will not adjust your breathing or breathe consciously. You shall instead watch your breathing. Pay attention to your inhaling and exhaling and the way the air fills your body and expand your stomach and chest. Notice the sensations in your body like the temperature of the air and the feelings in your body. Recognize these sensations but do not judge them in any way. You will only passively observe the situation.

Step 3
Remember to only focus on this very instant, and on the breath that you are taking right now and the way it feels now. And when the air is leaving your body through your breath, you will stop to think about that breath but instead on the one that you are inhaling in this very moment. You also have to remember to relax your mind and body when you meditate. Try to sit still and allow your mind to relax and just enjoy the moment of serenity.

When you are finished and feel like you are ready to stop your meditation exercise, slowly open your eyes and take a deep cleansing breath.

This type of meditation is a great technique for relaxation and it helps you to quiet your mind and body in a very quick way. So if you feel like you want to find a way to find peace and reduce stress and negativity in your life, you should work with mindfulness. There are several great benefits with meditation and it can help you improve your life both mentally and physically. It can give you a feeling of serenity and control and make you feel much more balanced and steady. How to be Happy and Stress-Free All The Time By Kurt Arrow

Happiness is right here, right now. You are inherently unconditionally happy and stress-free. You don?t have to achieve it. It?s there all the time. It?s the TRUE YOU.

If you?re like most people, you?re always just beyond reach of true happiness. Always looking for answers. Always seeking ways of how to be happy. Then, when you think you found the answer, and you?re happy for a while, it fades away.

Happiness and stress are complete opposites. And just as if they were on a see-saw, they always maintain their position, completely opposite of each other. When one goes up, the other goes down.

The more stress you have, the more unhappy you are. When you?re extremely happy, you won?t have stress. The TRUE YOU, in a state of stress-free happiness, is found in the current moment - the here and now. It?s your see-saw raised all the way up and stress, on the opposite end, is all the way down.

When you experience something for the first time, you are in the here and now. After you?ve had a melt down and cry your eyes out, you automatically return to the TRUE YOU feeling happy and a great sense of relief. The same happens after a really difficult problem or illness is resolved. You return to the here and now, happy and stress-free.

How about that awesome feeling on the first day of your vacation (after the stress of traveling to the destination) when you let go of all your problems and stress melts away? The TRUE YOU emerges. Even doing drugs or alcohol, which allow you to live in the current moment, you?re happy and stress-free.

Have you ever gotten advice to keep busy so that you don?t think about your problems? If you took that advice, you became the TRUE YOU focusing on what you?re doing in the here and now. Did you ever notice how happy you are when engaged in your favorite activity? Again, you?re in the current moment and not thinking about the past or future. That?s an awesome feeling, right? Stress is always the complete opposite so when you?re in that happy state, there?s no stress. That?s what true happiness is. That?s what you already have, and can feel that way all of the time, if you remain in the here and now.

It?s a very simple concept, but for most of us, is hard to accept that it could be that easy to find true happiness. The reason it?s difficult to accept, is that we are filtering in our memories of what we?ve learned (from the past) about stress and happiness, and until now, have never heard of something like this. If you stay focused on this article, in the current moment, your life is about to change. Your mind has been conditioned to seek conditional happiness, through one or more of your senses. Conditional happiness fades away. The TRUE YOU has unconditional happiness that never fades away. You?ll see what I mean shortly.

If you want to test it out, to see if what I?m saying is true, think about one of the problems in your life that you consider a current issue. Take your time, I?ll wait. Okay, did your happiness decrease and your stress increase? Now, ask yourself is the problem something from the past or a fear/negative prediction of the future? Or is it right here in the current moment, like you?re trapped in a burning building?

You might think it?s a "current moment" problem, but if you analyze it, it usually isn?t. Let?s say you?re unhappy in a relationship. Aren?t you unhappy about past experiences with that person, or is the unhappiness based on your negative prediction of the future that things aren?t going to improve between you? Or perhaps you can?t make a decision about whether or not you want to end the relationship, due to fear (of the future) if you were to make the wrong decision or be left all alone?

Here?s another example: Your best friend thoughtlessly forgot your birthday and you feel sad. Your thoughts are memories of the past such as, "I did so much for his birthday and he doesn?t even give me a call!" or "What kind of a friend (memory of life experience) does that?" You may have thoughts of the future like, "Some birthday this is going to be. I wonder if anyone will care."

I?m not suggesting that you analyze everything. I?m only trying to gain your trust that I?m telling you the truth. If you live in the here and now, you will quickly gain the ability to spot stress, even before it hits you. At this point, you may be wondering how to stop those spontaneous thoughts about the past or future. That will be addressed momentarily. I?m going to give you an easy 3 step system that keeps you focused in the here and now, as well as how to let go of those unwanted thoughts, in just a bit. If you understand why you?re not realizing the TRUE YOU, you?ll be able to make the changes that will reveal the truth.

There are four human emotions which are happy, mad, sad and fearful. Since "happy" is constant (the TRUE YOU) the other three are standing in your way of always being happy. Mad, sad and fearful are stress. All stress is outside of the here and now. I call this the FALSE YOU.

You may feel stress in the current moment, but it?s the result of thinking of the past or future. For example: You?re angry about what Joe said behind your back. The anger wouldn?t exist anymore (in the current moment) if you stopped thinking about the past and what was already said. Problems appear as if they are in the current moment, but they only exist when you?re thinking about the future. The only problems in the current moment are the ones you are solving right in that moment. You?ll be totally convinced that you need to keep it floating around in constant memory. The truth is, you will come up with solutions to problems a lot easier when your mind isn?t cluttered.

When you get those kind of thoughts that take you away from the present moment, you simply let them go. When you let them go, stress drops and when stress is at its lowest, happiness maintains its complete opposite, at its peak. At first, you might think that you won?t have your pleasant memories from the past, or you won?t be able to dream or have goals about the future, if you let go of thoughts. Or that you?ll become an empty shell, without feelings or emotions. That?s the FALSE YOU who thinks that. The truth is, your memory improves dramatically and your joy of living is multiplied a thousand times! You start enjoying even simple little things, without effort. Your mind clears so all your pleasant memories and dreams for the future are vivid and spectacular.

There is a proven method that I call Thought Watching, which will reveal the TRUE YOU. This process is designed to keep you in the here and now and make you aware of how controlling your thoughts have been. It helps you to realize that you can take control of your thoughts to prevent self inflicted stress and suffering. You can?t control spontaneous thoughts that just pop into your mind, but you can control your reaction. You can?t control feelings and emotions that are instantly triggered, but you can control your reaction. You may not be pleased to learn that you?re the cause of your stress and negative states of mind, but you will get a great sense of empowerment when you realize how easy it is to stay happy and stress-free, and you?re in control.

When put into practice, you?ll have immediate results, that will give you the skill to let go of mad, sad and fearful permanently. You?ll still have these emotions but in an entirely different way. They won?t stand in the way of your happiness. They won?t cloud your thinking like they currently do. You?ll gain control so if you want to be sad for a while, you can, then you decide when you want it to end.

Thought Watching is three easy steps to help you identify the FALSE YOU, so you?ll be able to get rid of it forever. 1) Observe. 2) Acknowledge. 3) Let it go. Remember that the TRUE YOU is already there, so you won?t have to make any effort to find it.

Step 1 - OBSERVE: Live in the here and now. Watch everything you do, in the current moment. Observe how your thoughts trigger your emotions. Observe how thoughts of the past or of the future are what triggers mad, sad and fearful emotions. None of these emotions are found in the present moment. Observe every feeling that you get. Observe every thought that you get. Observe everything you taste, touch, smell, see and hear. Even if you get thoughts of the past or the future, just observe. Good thoughts, bad thoughts, No thoughts. Observe. Do not act or react. Just observe.

Step 2 - ACKNOWLEDGE: Acknowledge everything you observe. This will help you focus on living in the here and now. If you?re not thinking of something that already happened, or something that hasn?t happened yet, you will not be mad, sad or fearful. This is where the truth, unconditional eternal happiness and the TRUE YOU can be found. Everything outside of the present moment is falsehood and that is where you will find sorrow, despair, anger, pain, suffering, fear, lies, deception, hatred, stress and the FALSE YOU.

Here is an example of what a typical day (in your thoughts) might be like when you practice Observe, Acknowledge, Let it go:

Opening eyes. Struggling to wake up. Hearing radio. This body is sore. This back is killing me. Rubbing eyes. Feeling good, but a little tired. Remembering to observe, acknowledge and let go. Getting a happy feeling. Sitting up at the edge of the bed. Turning off the radio. This body is sore. Cleaning corner of eyes with fingernail. Standing up. This back really is painful. Recalling what day of the week this is. Thinking about confronting Stan about his comments. Getting angry. Started clinging to bad feeling, but remembered to let it go. I should have just said, Angry feeling. Walking to the bathroom. Thinking what I?m going to say without screaming at him or punching him. Anxious feeling . Closing bathroom door. Walking over to the toilet. Lifting the lid. Sitting on toilet seat. This back really hurts. Hearing a large truck go by. Feeling scum on teeth with tongue. Hearing noisy birds outside. Looking at radiator. And on and on all day. Do you see how everything that was observed is being acknowledged?

Note how every time you refer to your body or yourself, you never say "me," "mine," or "my." You are not taking ownership of anything that?s experienced through any of your five senses, which includes thoughts. If you have physical pain and you refer to it as "painful feeling," rather than "I?m in such pain," then you don?t have mental pain along with the physical pain.

You are learning to see each thought for what it is, before your mind manipulates it. Typically, you might have a thought like, "That jerk really hurt my feelings. I would never treat him like that. Who does he think he is? That?s okay, I?ll get even." What you?re going to do now, is observe and acknowledge "Thinking of jerk. Angry feeling ." That?s all. Nothing more. It was a thought that triggered several thoughts and a bad feeling. It?s not yours and it won?t upset you. You let it go.

You?ll be rewarded all day long, for your efforts. Every time you remember to observe, acknowledge and let it go, you?ll get a happy feeling. You?ll be living in the here and now which is pure happiness. There?s no time for worrying about your problems or the future, so your stress level will drop dramatically. You will feel lighter, like the weight of the world has been lifted off your shoulders, and it will motivate you to continue living in the current moment.

Step 3 - LET IT GO: This is the most important of the three steps. Thoughts are like bubbles in boiling water. The bubbles suddenly appear (your thoughts suddenly appear) then, almost immediately, they disappear. Can you imagine the frustration you?d have if you tried to hold on to those bubbles? That would be stressful, right? That?s why thoughts are stressful when they?re not let go of. You can picture your thought being inside a bubble as you let it go and watch it rise into the sky, until it?s gone from sight.

Everything that you experience through your five senses becomes a single thought. Sometimes they come at you rapid fire, forming a group of thoughts. For purposes of letting go, think of groups as one thought. You observe it arise. You acknowledge what the thought is, or the feeling it triggers, and you let it go. If the thought is allowed to stay, new thoughts will stem from it, and you?ll open the opportunity to manipulate it. If you held on to a few bad thoughts in a row, you might consider it as being in a bad mood or having a bad day. The truth is, moods only exist when you don?t let go. When you let twenty-three bad thoughts go, they weren?t yours and your day isn?t ruined. You remain happy. With bad thoughts especially, you?ll be completely convinced that you need to keep thinking about it and not let it go. What you?re subconsciously doing, is looking for relief from feeling so bad. And rather than being responsible for your own feelings, you blame others, or say you have bad luck. You didn?t have a choice. It?s been conditioned into you, your entire life. Now you have a choice. Now you have relief! Now you can let it go.

It?s interesting to note that what ever thoughts you let go of, the complete opposite takes its place. If you let go of a bad thought, a good thought takes its place. If you let go of a sad thought, a happy thought takes its place. If you let go of anger, peacefulness takes its place. If you let go of jealousy, contentment takes its place. If you let go of fear, bravery takes its place. If you let go of disbelief, belief takes its place. There?s one exception to this phenomena, and that?s if you let go of a happy thought, nothing changes. You remain happy. That?s the TRUE YOU. Letting go of happy thoughts will help you understand and your doubt will be replaced with conviction.

It?s extremely important that you let go of happy thoughts and feelings. Let go of all thoughts. You may think that letting go of all thoughts will make you just an empty shell of a person. You may think that letting go of your feelings and emotions will make you just a zombie who doesn?t care about anything. That?s the FALSE YOU thinking these things. It?s simply not true. Your mind will be free and clear to have much more intense feelings.

Resist the temptation to hold on to happy thoughts. Let?s say you get a thought, "Vacation is only three weeks away," and you try to hold on to it. New thoughts stem from that such as "That?s going to be so relaxing!" "Just beach and sun!" "No schedules." "No pressure." "That?s going to be great." "I can?t wait." You?re off in a daydream and it feels great. And then, CRASH! It ends and you?re back in stress city. You end up disappointed and sad. If you had let it go, you would have enjoyed the thought that "Vacation is only three weeks away!"
and that?s it. It ends and you?re not disappointed or sad. The FALSE YOU has been conditioned to seek pleasure of the senses. You never knew that you had happiness with you without trying. My words, here, won?t be enough to convince you of this. You will soon understand.

Observe, acknowledge, let it go. If you forget to do it or have any difficulty with any of these three steps, just loop right back to observe, acknowledge, let it go. Most people have fears, doubts and skepticism, but if you let them go, you?ll be left with The TRUE YOU who is unconditionally happy and stress-free.

Live in the here and now and let go of all thoughts. That?s the simple truth of how to be happy and stress-free.. It?s a beautiful thing.

What will it take for you to be happy in life? Will it take success, lots of money, and that car you have been wanting? What will it take to really allow you to just sit back and enjoy the moment? If you have an answer to that question then you may be missing the point of pure happiness, and you may never truly be happy with what you have. Allow me to explain.

The truth is that most people do not become happy once they receive the things they thought would make them happy. This is because pure happiness is a mental state; it's not something that you receive when you get something in your life. You have a choice to be happy, and if you haven't chosen to be happy yet then you probably won't be happy when you get something you want. It's just that simple.

How to Be Happy With What You Have

Only Accept Things in Your Life That Make You Happy

First of all, don't accept things in your life that make you unhappy! Jack Canfield once said that he only does things that make him happy, and he's a pretty happy guy! This is so obvious but many of us don't follow this simple rule. We work at jobs we hate, we live in a house we hate, and we do things we don't want to do because we think we have to. But the truth is we don't have to, we always have a choice.

If you find that you are unhappy with what you have then start taking action to change. For example, if you are unhappy with your job then take action towards finding a job you love. Get the education you need to get the job you want or just go ahead and apply for it. Do whatever you have to do to make that change and be happy.

Practice Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a way of being in the moment and really seeing it for what it is. Have you ever heard of the raisin exercise? This is an exercise where you mindfully eat a raisin by noticing the taste, texture, and the way you feel while you eat it. In the exercise you are aware of the process of eating the raisin from beginning to end. This is an example of being mindful of what you are doing. You are not passing judgement, you are just observing.

Mindfulness can help you to be happy with what you have by allowing you to really appreciate what you have. Take the time to really notice the things or people in your life that you may otherwise take for granted. Notice those things or people and really be mindful of how they benefit your life and what they do for you. This can be about something as simple as your shower and being mindful of the great job it does getting you clean. You will find that it will be hard not to be happy with your shower after you allow yourself to see and feel how great your shower really is for you!

Live in the Moment

Ever notice how you are really happy when you are on vacation? That's because you are living in the moment. Can you imagine having that feeling at home, everyday? Doesn't that make you want to live in the moment?

When you live in the future you may find yourself worrying about things. This includes waiting for something to come into your life in order to be happy. For instance, if you are waiting for a soul mate to come into your life in order to be happy then you are probably focused on what the feeling will be like when you meet your soul mate and how your life will be different then it is right now. But you are probably worried about the how and when of it all as well, and that is causing you stress - not happiness.

Living in the moment allows you to stop stressing about what is going to come and when it is going to come. You can have dreams, you can have wants and desires, but if you spend your whole life stressing out about when those dreams and desires are going to manifest then you are missing out on the now and the happiness you could be feeling.

Bottom line: Don't let go of your dreams and desires, but don't spend all of your time in the future. If you want to be with what you have then you have to be living in the present. You can't be happy with what you have now if you are always living in the future that you think will make you happy.

Do you wish to start to meditate and improve your health and find your spirituality? There are a number of great reasons why to practice meditation, and when you start to do meditation exercises on a regular basis, you will also start to feel some of the lovely benefits with meditation.

Meditation Benefits

When you meditate regularly, you will start to feel stress freer and more at peace. Small things that would normally infuriate you will no longer have that same affect on you, and you will be able to feel grounded and centered throughout the day.

Practicing Meditation is also able to lower your heart rate and blood pressure over time, and will teach you to really relax and still your mind. Meditation helps you to concentrate and teaches you to focus for longer periods of time on just one thing without being distracted.

Meditation also helps you in your spiritual work and makes it easier for you to receive guidance from your Higher Self and intuition.

Where to Start?

So if you have decided that you are going to start your practice but do not know where to start, you first need to decide what you want to accomplish from your meditation work. So if your wanted end result is to get a feeling of balance and control your focus will be very different than from those who want to work on their spirituality.

Despite of what your goal is, it is a quite good idea to start with an easy breathing meditation, since this will be the foundation for any type of meditation. So start by practicing the breathing meditation for some time to start with. You can follow this short meditation exercise

Breathing Meditation

Step 1
Find a quiet place to do your meditation. Find a comfortable posture and then take a short time to settle before you go on.

Step 2
Close your eyes and take a deep cleansing breath to let go of stress and anxiety from your mind and body. Now continue to breathe deeply and picture that you are breathing in a blue wind of healing air that enters your stomach and fills every part of your body, making it shine with positive energy. Now exhale the air and visualize it as a dark heavy cloud of drained energy and tension leaving your body, making you feel a lot more relaxed.

Step 3
Continue to breathe in the healing air and let it fill your body and make you feel relaxed and free of anger. Whenever thoughts enter your mind, just return your focus to your breathing and continue with the meditation exercise.

Do this breathing meditation for as long as you need. If you are a beginner, you probably want to start with just a couple minutes meditation as you will have to get used to sitting still and focused for long periods of time.

So start your meditation practice the correct way for you and enjoy the great journey.

A Moment of Gratitude?.

During this busy time of year, it?s easy to get caught up in the hustle bustle of meal planning, gift buying, and travel plans. ?Black Friday? sales begin earlier than ever before, and aggressive consumerism always makes headline news. Amongst the stress of holiday planning, many of us forget that the true meaning of Thanksgiving is gratitude. The pilgrims and Indians came together to celebrate and be thankful for the rich and abundant gifts from the earth. They celebrated friendship, camaraderie, and potential. The very first Thanksgiving feast was one of gratefulness.

Gratitude is an idea that I present to my clients and yoga students often. Gratitude creates space for abundance, and when we let go of the ?I wants? we suddenly realize how much we already have. Cultivating a deep sense of gratitude takes practice. Just as we practice yoga postures, we must also make time to practice the feeling of gratitude, tending to it like a gardener tends the soil. Just as a flower wilts without water, gratitude wanes without appropriate time and attention.

During this holiday season, I challenge you to cultivate your own garden of gratitude. Begin a gratitude journal, writing down 2-3 things that you are grateful for each day. Use this simple meditation each morning or evening:

Sitting up tall in a quiet space, place both hands, one on top of the other over your heart center. Take a few deep, slow breaths and begin to think about a thing or a person that you are grateful for. As you continue to breath into the thought, begin to feel gentle warmth emanating from your heart. Let this feeling expand throughout every cell. Spend at least 3 minutes, present in this sensation of gratitude in the heart center. Anytime that you feel the mind begin to wander to another thought, simply bring the mind back to the breath, and back to the warm feeling of gratitude.

Finally, my own moment of gratitude:
Today, I am grateful for all of my clients and yoga students. You have all taught me so much about myself over this past year. Each new day, I am challenged to move beyond my comfort zone, and have grown exponentially as a clinician, a teacher, and a person- more than I ever thought possible. If you were to rate yourself on how happy and fulfilling your life is right now on a scale of 1-10, with "1" being not at all and "10" being fantastic, where would you rate yourself?
It?s an interesting question, because, if you?re like most people, you use generalized terms to describe your life, like, "It?s OK", "It?s fair", "I could be happier" and the like. Now, just for a moment, imagine your life being so happy that you walk around with a big smile on your face and everyone wonders what you?re up to! See the bright colors, hear the beautiful sounds, feel the relaxation in your body, taste and smell the fragrances around you. Expand upon the sights, sounds, feelings, tastes, and smells for as long as you wish. What happened to any stress you may have been feeling? What did you notice about the thoughts going through your mind? How did your posture react to the picture of total happiness?

Unfortunately, we don?t live a world of total happiness. We all have many stressors that come at us from a multitude of directions each and every day. But, unlike what you may think right now, you can experience a higher degree of happiness, joy, and fulfillment, even in an imperfect world!

Before I show you how easy it is to increase the happiness you have in your life, let?s discuss one of the things in the way of having it.

Fears

You would think that, with all the fears and phobias that people have, that they come about inherently, that we are meant to have them. What differentiates a fear and a phobia? Let?s say the subject is heights. A person may go to the top of a ladder to do some work on the house, the ladder slips a little and fear now sets in. This is a good thing as it serves as a self-protection mechanism. With a phobia, the person could be standing firmly on the ground and then something triggers thoughts of heights and they may break out in a sweat or become frozen in place. Nothing has really just happened, but they have become physically and/or psychologically impaired by it. Just think about your own fears and phobias. You may have a fear of spiders, snakes, dogs, or horses. It may be that you?re afraid of heights, tight spaces, elevators, or meeting new people. Then, there?s the dreaded needle. Think of the last time you got a shot at the doctor?s office. What was worse, the anticipation, or the shot itself? Some of you probably cringed as I mentioned those few items. The truth is we are born with just two fears; fear of loud noises and fear of falling. Those are inborn protection mechanisms we received from our ancestors.

Fear is usually learned in a fraction of a second. Think about a fear you have that impacts your life regularly. Think about the first time you can remember having that fear, the time when you came to own it. If it was fear of heights, think about what made you own that fear. If it was fear of snakes, what happened that made you own that fear? The larger the emotional impact, the deeper and more intense the fear.

Is it possible to get rid of these fears, or, at least minimize their effects? YES! There are several ways to approach this, but I?ll share just one technique with you today.

First, create a "safe" anchor. Here's how: Think of a time when you felt very safe and protected. Imagine it clearly and in detail. When you are at the height of feeling safe, touch your right knee, say out lout "Safe!" and anchor the feeling there.

Holding the "safe" anchor through this entire exercise, imagine yourself in a movie theater and you?re sitting close to the front of the theater and you?re watching a movie about your fear. Position it so the screen is small and just above eye level. You are now watching yourself watch the movie. Then, (Step 1) imagine moving yourself up out of the seat and into the projection booth with a Plexiglas shield around the booth and you have full control of the movie and the ability to stop it at any time. From the projection booth, you?re watching yourself; watching yourself, watch the movie. This is called double dissociation from the fear. (Step 2) Watching from one frame just before the event occurred that caused the fear, run the movie forward in black-and-white through the traumatic event and ending after the event and as the movie fades into white.
Now, (Step 3) float yourself from the projection booth down into the seat in the theater and play the movie backward, but in color and quickly, and this time, on whatever the thing is that you fear, put a clown nose on it and a funny voice, like Daffy Duck?s, along with circus music and run it very quickly. Repeat steps 1-3 three to five times, each time quicker than the one before.

Notice how you feel now about the thing you feared. You?ll see that you actually start to laugh at the thing you once feared. If the fear isn?t minimized to the point you would like, you can repeat this as often as needed until you get it to that point.

You can enjoy life NOW!

You have unlimited potential within you and the resources to be and do anything you desire. The brief exercise I took you through for fears is just a starting point for being able to enjoy life now. I can help you with limiting beliefs, relationships, smoking, weight loss, and so many more things that keep you from rating yourself a "10" on the happiness scale.

5. Think About Yourself
How can you take back your life? Start by taking better care of yourself. Being positive is a whole lot easier when you feel good about yourself. Get outside and go for walks or a bicycle ride. Start noticing what you are eating and begin eating more foods that will be healthier for you. Start exercising or become involved with activities within your community that will help you to feel better about yourself. Are you getting enough sleep? Make sure you rest enough each day as this can be a powerful boost in energy and positive thinking.

Being more positive about yourself is simple, surround yourself with positive people. Learn how to get organized and stay organized, which will help to reduce stress and negativity. The characters are the bomb in this movie. This movie has something to offer all audience of people!

What I liked about it was, there was several types of men and women in different situations looking for a relationship. Each person went through different obstacles in order for them to learn about themselves and the other person that they really wanted to be with.

The Guy with Potential

Steve Harvey explains that women give up the Vagina so fast that a man than is not interested in the women because of this.
Steve explains a 90 day rule. He compared the rule to a job like, 90 day probation period. the Employer delays the benefit from you until you have proven yourself after 90 days. Steve explained that women should also have this rule to see if the man is for her. Women should do this to set standards for themselves.

Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man breaks down the different points of views of men and women. Some women think Love is sex. While men think Sex is just a feeling that they need with no emotions attached to it.

In the movie Kevin Hart was the divorced man that hated his wife. While he was single the other men where trying to find a women. Kevin Hart of course was funny as hell in the movie. But at the end of Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man Kevin went back to his wife which was Wendy Williams. He realized that he had to put too much energy into being divorced and that he really loved his wife a lot and needed her.

Men need women and vice versa. Men try to play tough guy but they are really soft as a baby butt, and women fall for them.
Life is very unique, we never know who we will meet and what character and traits you are willing to become for that person.

The best relationship I think was the Independent Women and the Guy with Potential. She had to lower her standards to be with a man that could not contribute to her finances. She realized that money does not make her happy but wanted a man that made her fell special.

The Movie was a hit. It was hilarious, emotional, and many mixed feelings.

I learned in Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man, women must have standards and know what we want to find and keep a man!
Men only respect Women that have goals and standards set for themselves!

Act Like a Lady Think Like a Man was a great movie . It hit the #1 spot on the charts this weekend.

Finding Your Passion By Linda Cattelan

A really good friend of mine is always saying "when you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life". It?s a mantra and quote that has stuck with me for many years now and words of wisdom I live by and have imparted to my kids and clients alike. The way I see it is you have at least two choices. You find your bliss or passion in a career or hobby and you go for it or you find a way to be passionate about your current career.

Here are some strategies to help you find your passion:

1. Satisfaction Check ? Look at each area of your life and determine your level of satisfaction with each area. You should consider your career, finances, health and wellness, relationship with your significant other, family and friends, personal growth and development, physical surroundings, fun and recreation and anything else that is important to you. I like to rate each area on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest level of satisfaction (your bliss) and 1 being a low or no level of satisfaction. Then I suggest taking a good hard look at each area to analyze the gap. Determine what would have to happen or change for the gap to be reduced or eliminated. For example: If you rated your career a 7 out of 10. What would make your satisfaction level with your career a 10? Perhaps more clients, less travel time to work, a better relationship with your boss, etc. Once you?ve identified all the items that could make a difference in your level of satisfaction you need to commit to action. Taking even one action will move you one step closer to a higher level of satisfaction in that area of your life.

2. Values Check - Know what?s important to you. Being really clear about your values and what?s most important to you helps you make better decisions more often. Make a list of what?s most important to you in your life right now. Then rank everything on the list from highest priority to lowest priority. Take a really close look at your top 5 values. These are your most important values. How closely aligned are these top 5 values to how you spend your time day to day? What have you been neglecting that?s really important to you? Many successful people put as much time and thought into what they do in their time away from the office as they do in the office. Can you make connections between what you do for a living and what?s important to you? For example: perhaps you have an expensive hobby you are passionate about i.e. race car driving or flying planes. You are in a high paying career that you perhaps don?t love but it provides you with the time and money to race cars or fly planes. Find ways to love your work or at least be grateful for your career as it is providing you with the means to follow your passion of racing cars or flying planes-there is a connection to your values, there is a sense of purpose.

3. Competencies Check ? Before leaving my corporate career of 26 years to start my own business, I did some planning and strategizing to determine the type of business I wanted to be in. In the business world it is common to conduct a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats). Applying this same management tool can be very effective when applied personally. Start with an assessment of your personal strengths and weaknesses. What are you really good at? What aren?t you so good at? Engage others to provide you with feedback in these areas as well. You may be surprised by hidden talents you have taken for granted or haven?t been using. Consider opportunities available to you today to utilize and optimize your strengths. For example: There are careers and businesses in existence today that weren?t around 26 years ago when I first started my professional career. The world is constantly changing and evolving and so are the opportunities. Look for the opportunities or create some new ones. As for threats, it?s important to recognize that they do exist and to plan to minimize or mitigate any risks.

4. Mindset Check ? Lastly, it?s important to recognize that no one or one thing can make you happy. Only you can make yourself happy!

Based on my experience as a career coach I have found that many people find it easier to be accountable to someone else than it is to be accountable to oneself. A coach can support you by working with you to help you find your passion, determine your career and life goals and then hold you accountable every step of the way.

Be Happy By Dealing With Your True Feelings By Kari Farmer

I think it's important to deal with how you really feel at all times, and to admit that feeling. If you don't do this then you don't know whether or not you need to fix something in your life. Your feelings are what let you know if your life is going good or if it's going bad, and if you acknowledge your true feelings then you can take action on your life that will allow you to be happy.

I've never been one to hide my true feelings. I've always worn them on my sleeve and known exactly how I felt at any given time. But I haven't always dealt with my feelings and understood why I was having them. That's something I learned to do once I start to understand that my true feelings were an indication of how my life was going.

How you really feel right now is an indication of how happy you are, where you are in life, and where you are going in life. If you feel miserable and down then there is something wrong or something missing in your life. When you address that feeling of being miserable, and really dig to understand why you feel that way, then you can begin to take action to change what's making you feel miserable and allow yourself to be happy in life again.

So let your feelings flourish! Embrace them as they come in, good or bad, and let them tell you what step you need to take next in order to really be happy in life.

Look past the disguise that you have built for yourself and the world and find your true feelings. Are you mad, sad, anxious, or puzzled? What are you really feeling at this moment?

Don't try to feel something you are not feeling. If you want to feel happy but you actually feel sad then you have to admit that you feel sad. If you don't admit the truth then you are not being honest with yourself and you will not be able to work on the underlying cause that is making you sad.

2. Figure Out Why You Feel That Way

Once you understand what you are feeling find the root cause of that feeling. For example, if you feel sad try and pinpoint exactly what caused you to feel sad. Was there a moment when the sadness started? Did someone do something or say something that made you feel bad? Were you focused on a particular event at that time? Try and pinpoint the exact moment your mood started to turn bad.

3. Be True To Yourself

If you find out that the root cause of your sadness is something that you don't want to admit then try to remember that you can't run and hide from the reason or brush it off just because you don't want to deal with it. If you do that then you are not solving anything and your feelings are not going to change because the root problem is still there.

For example, if someone you love hurt your feelings and caused you to become sad then the only way to deal with that is to communicate with the person about how you feel or find another way to move past the hurt, anger, or sadness without looking back. You can't however just brush it aside because it will be there waiting for you to find again someday.

Whether you are hurt, embarrassed, nervous or happy, accept it and let it be a part of who you are. We are all human and we all have feelings like this, nobody is immune, so don't pretend like you are a superhero who doesn't feel certain things because that's not fair to yourself and your ability to be happy.

4. Don't Try To Force Your Feelings to Go Away

It may take some time to get over your hurt, anger, or any other negative emotion that you are having. It may take some time to figure out exactly how to deal with it. Don't try to rush it or talk yourself into thinking everything is okay now. If it's not okay yet then that's okay! You may not deal with the feeling within a day, and that's alright.

Your feelings are not going to go away until you deal with the root issue that you have discovered caused them, and you may not know how to deal with them right away so they may hang around for a while.

Scour the internet, talk to people, read up on how to fix whatever issue you are having. Once you find a way to fix the root cause of your feelings you will be able to move past the feelings and they will go away very quickly. So take the time to really find a way to overcome your issue.

If you find yourself without the ability to be happy right now then go through these 4 steps and find out what's really going on inside of you. Be honest with yourself and your feelings and allow yourself to figure out a plan to heal that negative mood and continue on towards being happy.

And when you do feel good be thankful for that feeling. Do more of what caused that good feeling and allow yourself to feel it even more!
